Tony Stewart won an exciting DRIVE4COPD 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race Saturday afternoon at Daytona International Speedway. Stewart, driving a KHI Chevrolet, crossed the finish line .007 seconds ahead of Clint Bowyer to earn his fourth consecutive win in the Nationwide Series season opening event.
"I feel terrible but this will make me feel better," Stewart said after the race. The two-time NASCAR champion has been feeling under the weather for the past three days but no one could tell it by the late race charge he made to pull off another Daytona victory.
Landon Cassill followed Stewart and Bowyer at the finish to claim third with Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Reed Sorenson completing the top-five.
Jason Leffler, Kyle Busch, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Michael Waltrip and Trevor Bayne finished sixth through 10th. Danica Patrick finished 14th, one lap behind the leaders.
The NASCAR Nationwide Series moves to Phoenix International Raceway for the Bashas Supermarkets 200 on February 26th.
