Less than a week after capturing his first NASCAR Nationwide Series win Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. has earned the pole for Saturday's Top Gear 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Stenhouse drove the No. 6 Fastenal Ford round the 1.5-mile track at an average speed of 186.994 mph to claim his second Nationwide pole of the 2011 season.
Kevin Harvick ran a lap at 186.845 mph and starts on the outside of the front row.
Matt Kenseth, subbing in the No. 16 for Trevor Bayne, qualified third for today's race followed by Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards.
Starting sixth through 10th are Reed Sorenson, Sam Hornish Jr., Aric Almirola, Kasey Kahne and Elliott Sadler, respectively.
Chase Miller and Charles Lewandoski did not qualify.
The Top Gear 300 is set to take the green at 2:45 p.m. ET.
