Carl Edwards passed his Roush teammate Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. with eight laps remaining and pulled out to a 1.669 second lead at the finish line to win the Alliance Truck Parts 250 Nationwide Series race Saturday afternoon at Michigan International Speedway.

"I was thinking the laps kept ticking down and I was driving harder and harder and not catching him," said Edwards. "With 11 to go I stepped it up and drove harder than maybe I should have. The cars are amazing.”

Stenhouse, Jr. settled for second after leading 38 of the 200-lap race.

"We’ve got to get a little bit better," Stenhouse said.

Kyle Busch finished third followed by polesitter Paul Menard and Trevor Bayne.

Joey Logano, Mark Martin, Elliott Sadler, Brad Keselowski and Jason Leffler completed the top-10.

Stenhouse leads Elliott Sadler by two points in the 2011 Nationwide standings as the series heads to Road America next Saturday.
