Michael McDowell will make his second start of the season for Joe Gibbs Racing from the pole in Saturday's Bucyrus 200 Nationwide Series race at Road America. McDowell edged road racing veteran Max Papis in this afternoon's qualifying session to claim his first career pole.
McDowell drove the No. 18 Toyota around the historical 14-turn road course at 109.381 mph while Papis clocked in at 108.620 mph. Jacques Villeneuve qualified third followed by Billy Johnson and Ron Fellows.
The Bucyrus 200 is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
Every driver who attempted a qualifying lap will start in the 42-car field.
