WoO Texas Two Step This Weekend

steve-kinserThe stars and cars of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series are preparing for the Second Annual Texas Two-Step Weekend scheduled for this Friday, March 12 and Saturday, March 13, 2010. Four different drivers have visited Victory Lane in the first five Outlaws events completed this season.

 

The Lone Star Speedway in Kilgore, Texas will host Friday night's opener. Kasey Kahne Racing driver Joey Saldana is the most recent winner at Lone Star, sweeping both World of Outlaws events at the high-banked 1/2-mile Texas track in 2009. Grandstand gates at Lone Star Speedway will open at 5 pm CT with racing set for 8 pm CT.

Meyers, Saldana Take A-Mains At Thunderbowl

jason-meyersJason Meyers has tried for seven years to win a World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series A-Main Feature at his home track, Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California, and he accomplished that goal Friday night after battling Joey Saldana for his 37th career Outlaws victory.

 

"It's incredible," said Meyers. "Every sponsor I have is here tonight. All of my family is here, and my fellow car owners are here as well. It couldn't be any better. We've won so many races here, but never an Outlaws show. It's been a great start to the season. We got the monkey off our back tonight and to win two in a row is great."

Myers Recognized By Motor Sports Press Association

jason-meyersIn 2009, Jason Meyers drove his way to 10 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series victories and a 2nd place finish in the final point standings. The season ending points race was the closest in the series history. Over the course of the year Meyers earned a series-high 55 top-10 finishes.

 

In recognition of his amazing feats last year Meyers has been named one of the Racers of the Year by the Motor Sports Press Association which is based out of California.

 

Myers, a native Californian, will the honor at the 47th Annual Motor Sports Press Association Pre-season Awards Dinner in California on March 3rd.

WoO Sprints Head To Thunderbowl Raceway

The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series moves to California this weekend for a two-day show, Friday, March 5 and Saturday, March 6, at the Groppetti Automotive Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California.

 

Jason Meyers, who won a thrilling A-Main Feature last Friday night in Las Vegas, will be seeking his first World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series victory at his home track in Tulare.
