Craig Dollansky won his third race at Tri-State Speedway on Sunday night.
Taking the second position after qualifying, Dollansky took the lead on the opening lap and did not look back until he crossed the finish line. He led all 40 laps, and picked up his sixth A-Feature win of the season.
"It was a great win," said Dollansky. "At the start, the car felt very good to me. I just tried to stay smooth and work out way into lapped traffic. I felt good in traffic. We had a few cautions we had to overcome with restarts and it seemed like we got going pretty decent on those. I saw Steve (Kinser) there a few times and he looked like he was operating pretty well lower than I was. It seemed like after a couple of laps, I didn't see him anymore." In several attempts to take the lead, Kinser would charge low, after the restarts, on turns one and two. Only to get even with Dollansky a couple of times, those attempts failed. "He (Kinser) was getting good restarts too and every time we restarted, I saw him on the inside of me," Dollansky explained. "It was pretty tough to clear anyone, kind of the same thing we had last night at that race track. This Rider motor and this Maxim car worked great tonight. My crew did an excellent job and it was a great win for this Larry Woodward team." Finishing off the Fourth of July weekend with some fireworks of his own, Dollansky hopes to carry his momentum throughout the season. In the next few weeks there are some big money races that have caught the eye of many, and Dollansky must stay competitive to come out on top, and possibly, collect the World of Outlaws Championship title. "This is definitely the time of year that you want to have momentum going," said the veteran driver. "This team is working right now and we have to keep on it and continue to work hard. There are a lot of races coming up and you have to keeping working every day to make sure your program stays strong. We feel good heading into the Month of Money.
