Heading into Attica, Donny Schatz is leading the series point standings by 53 points over Steve Kinser. Joey Saldana, Jason Meyers and Craig Dollansky conclude the top-5 in the standings.
Looking at last year’s statistics, it is a strong possibility that Schatz will widen the gap. Schatz won last year’s event at the 1/3-mile dirt track with Saldana closely following. Schatz also has the momentum of Monday’s win at Canandaigua Speedway propelling him into Attica.
“Attica is going to be about like it was at Canandaigua (Speedway, on Monday),” Schatz said. “It gets that slick and we were good there last year and won there last year. I am looking forward to going over there. It's getting to the summer time and that's when we like to get our groove on and get in the winning mode. We've been racing really good. We've made some great strides and I feel like we have put ourselves above everyone else. I have made some mistakes and that is part of racing. I haven't made a lot of them the last couple years, but hopefully I have them out of my way now and can focus on winning races.” However, if anyone can contest the back to back to back champion it’s Kinser. He is the only driver in the series to collect multiple wins at Attica Raceway Park, taking the checkered in the first two events the World of Outlaws held at the track.
With each of the drivers in the top-5 of the point standings accounting for a win at the dirt oval in Ohio in their careers, it is sure to be an interesting race as the Outlaws gear up for another showdown. MORE WORLD OF OUTLAWS NEWS
