donnie-schatzWorld of Outlaws Sprint Series points leader and 3-time defending champion took his 99th career win in the series on Saturday night at K-C Raceway in Chilicothe, OH. Schatz led from pole position and was never headed on his way to leading all 40 laps and taking the victory ahead of Steve Kinser and Dale Blaney.

“I always look forward to coming here,” said Schatz. “This has been a good track to me. We’ve managed to get some wins here fighting hard and tonight we had a fading race car there at the end, but it was enough to get the job done I guess. It’s always fun here. It’s always slick and hard to get your race car stuck, but we seem to be a little bit above what everyone else has, so that is a good thing.”

Schatz has a history of success at the track, having won at K-C several times in the past, including the last time the series made a visit during the 2008 season. Schatz was not unchallenged though as Blaney pushed him hard early on while the two negotiated heavy lapped traffic and Kinser made a charge later on that nearly saw him pass Schatz before falling back and out-battling Blaney and Joey Saldana to hold on to 2nd.

Jason Meyers came from 9th on the grid all the way to 4th spot at the grid edging out Saldana who came in 5th.

The World of Outlaws Sprint series continues next weekend with a pair of races from I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri.
