Terry McCarl put his name in the history books at Knoxville Raceway Saturday night, becoming the first driver to win three Arnold Motor Supply 360 Nationals titles. “I’m getting kind of old, man,” McCarl said after the history making win. “I’m real wore out.”
McCarl drove away from Billy Alley on the restart with five laps remaining to win in front of an estimated crowd of 8,000 hardcore race fans. McCarl also won the 410 A-Main on Saturday and picked up checks totaling $13,000 for his efforts. "Hopefully we can do this again next week,” McCarl added. “We’ll have one mean party.” Wayne Johnson finished second in the 360 Nationals main event and Billy Alley followed in third.
