roger-slackLegendary motorsports promoter Roger Slack has been named the Executive Vice President of Events for the World Racing Group.

Slack’s lifelong experience in the sport will be an asset to the parent company of The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, The World of Outlaws Late Model Series and The Super DIRTcar Series.

After learning the business through his family-owned race track in Ontario, Canada, Slack organized his first event at the age of six. The young racing enthusiast became a flagman at 14 and promoted racing events to pay his way through college.

His most recent endeavor was promoting events at both The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway and LMS itself between 2000 and August 2008. The experience Slack gained from working with some of the best promoters, including Glenn Donnelly and H.A. “Humpy” Wheeler, is invaluable.

“Through my experience with Glenn Donnelly and The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway, I've worked on many DIRTcar and World of Outlaws events in my career, from Super DIRT Week to the World Finals,” Slack, said. “The World Racing Group's unique mix of marquis events, premier national tours and grassroots dirt track racing is exactly what I was looking for as I make my return to short-track promotion.”

The World Racing Group is equally as excited to welcome Slack to the team.

“We are excited to have Roger come on board at World Racing Group,” World Racing Group CEO, Brian Carter, said. “We have been working hard for the fans and competitors to create spectacular events like the World Finals, the DIRTcar Nationals, the All-Star Weekend, and so many others. Roger's experience will be instrumental in furthering our efforts.”

Slack has earned multiple awards for his exceptional abilities including being named the 2007 National Sprint Car Promoter of the Year and the 2007 World of Outlaws Late Model Series Promoter of the Year. This new role will give him a new challenge and another chance to prove he is one of the best in the business.
