In 2009, Jason Meyers drove his way to 10 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series victories and a 2nd place finish in the final point standings. The season ending points race was the closest in the series history. Over the course of the year Meyers earned a series-high 55 top-10 finishes.
In recognition of his amazing feats last year Meyers has been named one of the Racers of the Year by the Motor Sports Press Association which is based out of California. Myers, a native Californian, will the honor at the 47th Annual Motor Sports Press Association Pre-season Awards Dinner in California on March 3rd.
“It’s really exciting for our team and says a lot about our team,” Myers said of the honor. “We’re going to take the entire team up there on Wednesday to receive the award. Like I told them on the phone, it’s not me that makes it happen, it’s this entire team. It’s really neat to receive something like that. It was very special when I received the phone call. Everyone has worked so hard to build what we have and we’re looking forward to many more to come.” MORE WORLD OF OUTLAWS NEWS
