Meyers, Saldana Take A-Mains At Thunderbowl
Written by Zach Davis

jason-meyersJason Meyers has tried for seven years to win a World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series A-Main Feature at his home track, Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California, and he accomplished that goal Friday night after battling Joey Saldana for his 37th career Outlaws victory.

"It's incredible," said Meyers. "Every sponsor I have is here tonight. All of my family is here, and my fellow car owners are here as well. It couldn't be any better. We've won so many races here, but never an Outlaws show. It's been a great start to the season. We got the monkey off our back tonight and to win two in a row is great."

Saldana finished second, Jac Haudenschild third, Donny Schatz fourth and Steve Kinser fifth.

Joey Saldana, driver of the Kasey Kahne Racing #9, picked up his first World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series A-Main Feature win of the season Saturday night at Thunderbowl Raceway, moving him into first place in the 2010 championship point standings.joey-saldana

"It was a great effort by my team," said Saldana. "We blew up in the dash and they worked hard to get the motor changed, so we really didn't get to work on our car too much. My car was pretty good for 35 laps and the motor held in there. It was a total team effort by everyone involved."

Jason Meyers finished second Saturday night with Pennsylvania's Fred Rahmer, who was polesitter Friday night, posting a third place finish in his first weekend of racing at the Thunderbowl Raceway. Kraig Kinser and Jason Sides completed the top-five on Saturday night.
