Joey Saldana put the Kasey Kahne Racing No. 9 back in Victory Lane Friday night at Eldora Speedway, capturing win number nine of the 2010 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series season in the Knight Before Kings Royal.
“We worked hard and it was a great effort by everyone,” said Saldana. “This is the motor we should have won Lakeside (Speedway) with and I destroyed it. Rick Long with Speedway Engines worked really hard to get it back to us. There are a lot of people that helped us to get this motor back for this weekend and I can’t thank them enough for getting us an engine that can compete and win these races.” Saldana started second and got around Lucas Wolfe on lap one for the lead, quickly putting distance between himself and the rest of the field. Saldana dominated the 30-lap event with only the top-12 on the lead lap when the checkered flag flew. Donny Schatz, Paul McMahan, Steve Kinser and Lucas Wolfe completed the top-five. The next race on the 2010 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series schedule is the 27th Annual Kings Royal at Eldora Speedway on Saturday, July 17.
