More than 50,000 hardcore race fans will make their way to Knoxville, Iowa, a town of about 7,700, this week to witness sprint car racing history. Known far and wide as the biggest spectacle in all of sprint car racing, the 50th Annual Knoxville Nationals kick off Wednesday evening at the famed Knoxville Raceway with hot laps beginning at 7 pm local time.

A who's who of sprint car racing drivers are in town to compete for the $150,000 check that goes to the winner of Saturday night's A-Main. NASCAR stars Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne have multiple teams entered in this classic event.

Fans have a host of interactive activities available throughout the weekend, including touring the adjacent National Sprint Car Hall of Fame, driver meet and greets, autograph sessions, all you can eat pancakes, live music and a pie eating contest with on-track activities getting started around 7 pm each night, Wednesday, August 11 through Saturday, August 14.
