The 2012 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series season opening weekend at Volusia Speedway Park is now in the record books with Danny Lasoski, Donny Schatz and Craig Dollansky each taking a trip to Victory Lane during the 41st annual UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment.

Lasoski and Dollansky grabbed wins in All-Star Circuit of Champions Features on Wednesday and Thursday nights before rain hit the half-mile on Friday. With racing scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday officials moved Friday's event to Sunday making the weekend finale a double-header.

Lasoski picked up the win in the first Outlaws race of the year on Saturday night after starting on the pole and beating defending series champion Jason Meyers to the finish line in the 30-lap A-Main.

Donny Schatz held off Sammy Swindell to score Friday night's rain-delayed 20-lap contest on Sunday afternoon. Jason Sides finished third followed by Joey Saldana and Dollansky.

Sunday's finale saw Dollansky outrun polesitter Schatz for his first win of the year.

“This was a long day,” Dollansky said. “It was two nights of racing in one day.”

Swindell won the overall point title for the five-night UNOH DIRTcar Nationals.

Schatz leaves Volusia with the 2012 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series point lead over Swindell, Brad Sweet, Dollansky and Sides.

The Outlaws return to action March 8th at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas.
