Danny “The Dude” Lasoski recorded his 20th career victory in the finale of the 42nd annual UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment at Volusia Speedway Park Sunday night.

"I really like this place," Lasoski said in Victory Lane.

Starting the 30-lap A-Main from the pole, Lasosoki battled Chad Kemenah and Cody Darrah at the drop of the green. The Dude held the point for the opening five laps when Kemenah went low for the lead in turn one.

Darrah went around Lasoski for second on the eighth circuit and rode there until making a charge on Kemenah for the lead around the lap 20 mark. Kemenah was pulling away when a caution with three laps remaining came out for Craig Dollansky’s machine in turn two.

On the restart Kemenah drove beneath the cone on the frontstretch which brought out another caution and a two-spot penalty for the Ohio native. Darrah was in line to inherit the lead but a damaged left front tire sent him pit side moving Lasoski to the front with Kemenah second.

“I thought I was out of tear offs and the tear offs ear was broke off and it's just like being out of tear offs," Kemenah said. "I couldn't see. I come by there and I thought, 'Well, why didn't they put the cone out?' But they did and I was completely underneath of it they said. It was just a mistake on my behalf."

Steve Kinser spun in turn one on the restart and collected Brad Sweet, who flipped after contact with Jac Haudenschild.

Lasoski went low on the following restart and held on to capture his first World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series win of the 2013 season.

"You had to keep your nose clean; everything was happening so fast," Lasoski said. "The race track actually widened out where you can run top, bottom and middle, and that's all we can ask for."

Kemenah was not happy with second place.

"I'm just really mad," Kemenah said. "I thought we were going to drive back around him on that last lap going into three and four, but it just wasn't there and I came home second."

Justin Henderson finished third, Donny Schatz fourth and Daryn Pittman completed the top five.

Pittman’s Friday night win along with his runner up finish Saturday night and fifth on Sunday earned him the overall championship of the UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit.

"We had a conversation on our way down here between me and the whole crew on what our goals were for the year and the number one goal was to come here and win that gator," Pittman said of the three-foot bronzed gator trophy reserved for the champ of Sprint Week at Volusia. “Just a great way to start the year off.”
